You and Your General Practice (YYGP)
A New National Commitment to Supporting Patients and Practices
As part of the 2025/26 GP contract, NHS England has introduced You and Your General Practice (YYGP) – a national initiative designed to strengthen the relationship between GP practices and patients.
What is YYGP?
You and Your General Practice sets out what patients can expect from GP practices, and what practices expect from patients. It’s about working together to improve care, communication, and mutual respect.
What You Can Expect from Us:
- Clear communication about your care
- Access to a range of healthcare professionals
- A safe and inclusive environment
- The opportunity to give feedback or raise concerns
What We Ask from You:
- Please attend appointments on time, or cancel if you no longer need them
- Be prepared for your appointment (bring necessary information or medication)
- Let us know if you need support or adjustments (e.g. translation, accessibility)
- Treat our team with courtesy and respect
Sharing Your Feedback or Concerns
We want to hear from you. Your feedback helps us learn, improve, and deliver better care.
You can:
- Speak to our Practice Manager or any team member
- Leave feedback through our online form or at reception
- Contact our Integrated Care Board (ICB) or Healthwatch
If your concern needs to be managed as a formal complaint, we will inform you and guide you through our complaints process.
All feedback is documented, including:
- The date and method we received it
- A short description of the issue
- The outcome or any actions taken
- Any improvements made as a result
We may also discuss feedback and themes with our Patient Participation Group (PPG) and local NHS teams to help shape services in the future.
